Olivier and Barbara's kitchen in Nepean, Ottawa, was ready for a transformation. A central column once dominated the space, making the kitchen feel restricted and disconnected. By removing this column, we opened up the area, creating a brighter and more inviting environment that seamlessly connects with the living space.
To accommodate a larger refrigerator and enhance functionality, we reconfigured the cabinetry layout. Collaborating with Aspen Design, we extended the cabinets, ensuring a flawless integration with the existing structure. The homeowners desired a subtle contrast to define the kitchen while maintaining harmony with the adjacent living area—a goal we achieved with precision.

The choice of Golden Honey stacked stone for the backsplash introduced texture and timeless appeal. We extended this natural stone to wrap around the base of the peninsula, creating a bold statement. Inspired by the cohesive look, we also applied the same stone treatment to the entrance area, elevating the overall aesthetic of the home.
The centerpiece of the kitchen is the TSF 140 - Calacatta Sofia quartz countertop. Our partners at TSF meticulously fabricated each piece, ensuring a seamless fit against the walls and around the sink area. This attention to detail not only pays homage to the kitchen's original layout but also sets the stage for a modern and functional space.
